Fall Family Picture Outfits
We took family pictures with Jesse’s family this year. The session included a couple of shots of our little family individually. I am so in love with how they turned out! It was a mad scramble to get the outfits together in time, but it all came together perfectly.
I always start by finding an outfit that I love and basing the boys’ outfits around that. This was especially important to me this year as I am pregnant and it’s always good for a pregnant woman’s self esteem to wear an outfit that makes her feel confident. The rest of the family was wearing shades of navy and maroon as the base colors, and adding other fall colors as accents. I took a trip to LaurieBelle’s Boutique in Tea, SD, to see what I could find. It’s consistently been one of my favorite stores lately. The girl that was working was so friendly, made helpful suggestions while I was putting my outfit together, and even allowed us to stay a bit past closing time to finish shopping. I went with this fun short dress in a rustic, washed-out maroon. It has lace up ties on each side, which make this little dress super flattering. I loved the beautiful shades of blue and green in the scarf, and topped it off with these fun and fringey cream booties that I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks. I wore gray leggings under the dress (and I’m glad I did, because it was super chilly the night we did pictures!). I love how well the scarf ties the outfit together. The cream color matched the booties and the maroon stripe tied in with the dress, while the beautiful blues and greens were a lovely complement.
Next I headed to Target to find Camden’s outfit. They didn’t have a lot that jumped out to me at first, but Ashley showed up and together we put together this adorable look for him. I love the blue and green plaid flannel, the colors look great on him. Camden has a slim figure, so I like putting skinny jeans on him, and these washed out gray ones looked perfect. The totally cute boots in light tan give the outfit that trendy outdoorsy-lumberjack vibe. All three items are Cat and Jack brand from Target. They were pretty affordable by my standards, and I’ve been dressing him in this outfit every chance I get.
That left my dear husband to shop for! Thankfully all he needed was something to wear on top. With Camden and I in color, I opted for a neutral tone for Jesse. I found this sweater at Buckle and my work was done! Jesse wanted to wear this Under Armour long sleeve tee under it (no surprise there, he prefers a sporty/preppy style), and the green color tied in great with our outfits. The sweater, jeans, and shoes are from Buckle and the Under Armour tee is from Scheels.
And here is how it turned out! Our photos were taken by Dear Jane Photography. I am so in love with this shot of my sweet little family. Every time I look at this I feel overwhelmingly blessed. This one is going on the wall for sure.
